Every single day, patients ask me questions such as:
- Doc, what should I do to lose weight?
- How can I start exercising?
- Doc, what do you do to stay in shape?
- What do you eat to stay thin?
- I really want to get fit, but how do I get started?
- Doc, how do you find the time to stay fit with your busy schedule?
- How do I stay motivated to exercise?
- I just can’t stick to a healthy diet…what should I do?
After years of being asked these same questions over and over, I am finally going to start addressing these topics in more detail! These are complex questions, and the answers span across the fields of physiology, psychology, nutrition, and even philosophy. There is no way I can scratch the surface of a real answer during the typical 15-25 minute office visit (while also addressing the other medical issues that people are there to discuss). But out here on the internet we have unlimited space and time, and you can consume this stuff as you please…or not at all…that’s the beauty of it!
Since I believe exercise is one of the fundamental pillars of a healthy life, here is my first workout video! (Yup, I make workout videos now!)
You will find out why pushups are a great total-body exercise that you can do anytime and anywhere! Even if you think you know how to do perfect pushups, I will give you a few important pointers on form to keep you working those reps safely and with maximal muscle stimulation.
If you can’t do any pushups yet, don’t worry! My next video will show you how to go from zero pushups to your first pushup with a simple progression that anyone can work on from home. It will be a great feeling to get your first pushup, so stick around! Better yet, just join my free 40-day health and fitness course called MDFITRx and start getting fit today!
